Daturas have been referred to as the most widely used hallucinogenic plants in the world. Unconscious experimentation has earned them a bad reputation though they have an incredible history of rich medicinal use. Distinguished from Brugmansias in that their flowers extend upwards rather then being pendulous. Contrary to popular belief, there is no tree datura.
