  The origin of "Solanaceae" - The origin of the name Solanaceae comes from the Latin word Solamen which primarily alludes to the sedative qualities of a number of its species. They are often referred to as Nightshades, or Deadly Nightshades as they contain the toxic tropane alkaloids scopolamine, hyoscyamine and atropine that enhance them.

Withania somnifera - Ashwaghanda - Winter Cherry
Prized Ayurvedic medicine considered an elixir of life. According to ancient Vedic knowledge Ashwaghanda was the most magical plant, next to Soma. It is similiar to ginseng though it is much less expensive & easier to grow. An extraordinary herb most often used as a tonic. As an aphrodisiac it is known to give the vitality and sexual energy of a horse. The root is particularly useful as a rejuvenative in cases of general debility and convalescence.
